Two-time MVC Player of the Year Fred VanVleet will play for the Toronto Raptors in the 2016 NBA Summer League, according to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress. The former Wichita State guard went undrafted in Thursday night’s draft.
VanVleet won the conference player of the year award as a sophomore and senior. He averaged 12.2 points and 5.5 assists last season, leading Wichita State to its third straight MVC title and second consecutive Sweet 16 appearance at the NCAA Tournament.
VanVleet’s backcourt mate Ron Baker also went undrafted and signed a partially guaranteed deal with the New York Knicks.
